Some of this is down to changes in practices at the YP which the NUJ are campaigning (note correct spelling!) against - most journalists and staff are really unhappy about the drop in standards but, as is so often the case, it seems to be at least partly due to cost-cutting and managerial directives.Article about it here: http://jonslattery.blogspot.com/2010/06 ... nston.html

CRAZYJANEThe software from which this site is constructed has a built in profanity filter which removes most words considered unsuitable for a familly viewed site and replaces themw ith the comment you see above.Looks like Brandy must have made a slip there in the heat of the night (or morning)Do remember what to you may seem to be everyday remarks and acceptable can cause offence to others. Complaints are best avoided when cost-cutting options are being sought. edit:Having re-read your post Jane, I've deleted it. The making of comments of that nature can lead to you and the site sponsors facing rather more serious action what ever you or anyone else may think.I am asking the Site Administrators to consider the matter.

Just to prove that it isn't only the YEP that gets it wrong, tonights Calendar featured a report about a mysterious pile of clothes found on the banks of the "Calder and Aire Canal" at Woodlesford.I can only assume our intrepid journo was referring to the Aire and Calder Navigation.....

The incident is reported on page 14 of today's YEP in which it also refers to the "Calder and Aire Canal at Woodlesford". I wonder if the original reporting source got it wrong but nobody knew any different at the YEP and Calendar?
