I would think you were pretty spot on with your assumption Ravey.I tend to think.Flat 1. Tower block you can see is Sherburn Court on York road.Flat 2.Is Queensview on Seacroft Crescent.Flat 3.Is Seacroft gate block 2 on Hansby Avenue.

Cheers guys - I agree it has to be Queensview, which is near enough on my doorstep! It's quite difficult to get the perspective right when looking at the city centre skyline (and beyond) due to the topography and the layout. As I said earlier the trees certainly add to the confusion, as from afar lots of Leeds looks to be densely wooded.Queensview is virtually at the top of the hill at Seacroft, which is probably the highest point on the East side of Leeds, and the other flats visible fit with that. Seacroft Gate block 1 would be masked from view by Queensview. On Phills pic you can see the spike on top of the Kremlin in the centre foreground and then Burtons, so that all fits too. The smaller flats to the front of Queensview (they don't break the horizon) would be Bailey Towers and Brooklands Towers, with Parkways Towers below them.Puzzle solved. Thanks.

Here's the view from the other end...http://snipurl.com/zu7cjAs always, you'll need to copy and paste the link. I have tried uploading the image but it soon became clear that technology was defeating me again... Thanks again for all the help.

I've taken some better quality pics from this vantage point and posted them on flickrhttp://snipurl.com/10olksSadly the conditions weren't ideal - despite the breeze this morning it was still a bit hazy in the distance. As always I still can't think of a user name that I like and someone else hasn't already taken, so you'll need to cut and paste that link.
