HiSomeone mentioned how did they move house so quickly.I remember moving house when I was 8 in the 1950's.We moved about a quarter of a mile away. My Dad and Uncle and two older brothers carried, the settee, 2 charis, bed frames, mattrasses, sideboard, few clothes sheets and books. That was that in those days. No one had much to put in their houses so there wasnt much to carry. We didnt do a flit as they say but I remember a few fliting at night time and they were gone in the morning and that happened even in the 50's. Good education in history on this site.

Thanks a lot Chris, I must have been in BAOR when uncle Bill was buried, missed it. Dogduke, your mam maybe did, William was horsekeeper at Rock red brickyard in 1911 and uncles George and Bill were both terracotta pressers at Burmantofts, thanks again folks and forgive my idle opportunism in using this thread.

Next problem Secret Leeds doesn't recognise ' @ ' in a link and stops that working - copy the address and paste to the address bar to view on here (- or give yourself a screen name in your flickr profile dogduke, that will replace the symbol and numbers in the address you wiould post as a link!!!)
