Some of you may know this site and I know its been covered on another thread, but last week a planning application was posted to turn the old colliery, now a picnic site (but used for other activities !)into a caravan site. The application is not clear as to the type of caravans that would use it, but I have it on good authority that it is a "travellers" site. While I know that the site is not used as was originally intended, Whitehouse Lane, where the entrance would be is a very dangerous junction with Wakefield Road with accidents on a regular basis.I would be obliged if any of you could sent in an objection against the caravan site.

The problem we have is the government says if a council does not provide sites for travellers then they could lose out on grants Its a kind of blackmail on there part but then if you complane you are a bigot.I will not say anymore but if that is the case im a bigot lets say this its not the Britain i was brought up in.
No matter were i end my days im an Hunslet lad with Hunslet ways.

I wonder, do you mean 'does not' tilly? And do we know it's a travellers site proposed? Probably so but the application is not clear.
