Yes, the Fleece (Otley) is definitley closed, food signs removed etc. Load of chavs sat on the outside tables yesterday. I just hope that if they go ahead with the renovations, the tap room is preserved - must be one of the best intact tap 'oils left in the lower wharfe valley. Signs now removed fromt the front of the Yeoman (Fountain). When you look in that book "The Pubs of Otley", only published last year, it's deeply upsetting how many have gone since. Good job at least that they were recorded. On a brighter note, work continues on the Old Cock (the old Sugar Street Bistro).

Went past the Fleece late on friday night, lights were on and the front doors open? It certainly looked open to me, any one know anything different?Ta in advance

Don't know if it's been mentioned previously, but The Angel in Wetherby is closed. This is a famous old coaching inn, right next to the bridge that once had stables for 100 horses.Worryingly, there are signs up for RDF Developments and there were builders on site on Saturday morning doing something. No clue as to what the development is though.

I'd have thought The Angel was listed, and that because of its hostory, "change of use" would not be welcomed by the Planners.Mind, I thought that about The Woolpack in Otley (about which I've put me two penn'orth in to LCC).
