Derelict Hospital

I have just watched the tv programme Touched by Frost about the filming of the Touch of Frost series. It mentioned that the last episode was filmed in a derelict hospital in Leeds. It was a victorian looking building with red brick and had a balcony at the side. I have looked at the obvious like Seacroft and Chapel Allerton but can't find it. Filming took place there in July 09 so I would have thought it's still around. Has anybody any ideas as to where it could be.

It's been shut for a couple of years and is supposed to be redeveloped for housing, but I assume that is on hold at the moment?Frost has used Seacroft Hospital several times over the years, the advantage being that most of the clinical and out patients areas are closed at weekends, leaving them free to film without interruption.

I don't think it's Cookridge, wrong colour bricks. This building was boarded up and they only used it for filming inside. There was a sign outside that pointed to the dialysis unit. I don't know if Seacroft has a dialysis unit. I've been on the itv web site and tried to watch the programme again but it only works for the first 8 minutes then there is no picture only sound. This building was shown near the end. I will try again later on a different computer.

If it's not Cookridge, then I can only think it is a disused part of Seacroft as I can't think of any other derelict hospitals in the Leeds area. Whilst parts of Seacroft are still in use, other parts have been mothballed and the NHS Trust are often touting the site as ripe for development and seem keen to sell it off.All the closed hospitals have now been built on to the best of my knowledge. The other possibility is that it is not in Leeds - although Frost is usually filmed in Leeds they've used locations as far afield as Keighley and Ferrybridge.Someone on here will know the answer, I hope.

Some of the older editions of A Touch Of Frost were filmed at Killingbeck Hospital in Leeds.Of interest is that the exterior shots for the hospital in The Royal were filmed at a block of flats just off Scarborough sea front, close to the old holbeck Hall Hotel site, however the interior shots were shot in a unused ward at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

I thought it was Cookridge too!
