old cottage on mistress lane in armley

What years are we talking about here? yes it was defo behind the photographer and to the left as you say. it was the late sixties when she lived there. it took up a corner of the field, I used to cut across the field on the way to green lane school from town street and she used to wave to me from her back garden. there were often horses tied on the field if this helps? then i would walk along the back of the cemetery past the back of the jail to school.

Yeah I remember it now. We lived in the maisonettes furthest down in the 4th pic, we moved there in '65. I left there in '74 but me mam was there till about 1980. I've searched Leodis for pix, to no avail. There is a couple which come very close but not close enough.

I wonder how come that the lovely old pub The Union Cross was demolished by the council Philistines? A pub or building of this age should surely had a preservation order placed upon it?

I challenged the developers who wanted to demolish it, but only a handfull of others did too. It should have been saved, it's not as if anything has been done with the space. They could have renovated it back to as it was. I know it's in Armley and the area has deteriorated slightly but this was an Inn built in the early 1700's and has history. LCC have a lot to answer for.
