I only once visited the room at the top club, but understand that Wilma McCann was there earlier on the night she was killed.

Mentioned in one of the ripper books,he did go to this club. They also had to supply a "meal" as part of their license to sell grog outside normal closing time. I use word meal very loosely here. Must have being one of the roughest clubs I ever went to. Always 3or 4 of us always went together. Its along time ago now ,but I think a few Irish boys use to go there quite a lot.

The last time I was in Mallorca former Radio Leeds DJ Simon Peters and his wife Wendy were presenters on the local English language radio station. Originanally the rollerena was an ice rink with a bowling alley underneath, the ice rink closed and converted to a rollerena then the bowling alley closed and reopened as a nightclub and was called iether Samantha's or Carolines but i cant quite remember which

Tall guy with a scarred face (we were told that he had been badly cut helping a cop who was being attacked). He was a nice chap (no hard man rubbish) and well respected by the punters.Back to night clubs there used to be a boat parked up on the Aire off The Calls near Leeds Bridge. I think this was in the late seventies. I went a couple of times but can’t remember what it was called or much about it. I seem to recall that it had a student feel to it but it’s all a bit of a blur. I think it caught (or was set on) fire and never reopened. Can't remember the name of the club but the boat was a large converted barge called the "Talmud Agla" and it was an arson job (ALLEGEDLY for insurance purposes) and was indeed about 1974 or 1975. I was one of the firecrew who fought the blaze onboard. I was in fire brigade in Leeds from 1973 - 2003

Was there a Cinderellas Night Club somewhere near the Merrion Centre in the late 70's?

Q8gEwAANot a good pic, but that's where it was No it wasn't. It was behind the Merrion Centre on Merrion Way. It's also often forgotten that the business was a partnership between Pete and his brother Geof.
