Munki took up the challenge and expressed similar thoughts about those adorning the Town Hall. Not seen any for some time now but, did see a planning application for some at the museum recently - application withdrawn, nice to see someone cares about appearances! Time passes and the feeling is obviously that people forget - probably why this week's planning applications include once more, requests to errect banners amongst a large selection of other signage, upon the Museum.Still inappropriate to my mind, wonder if Munki has noticed this too?

I remember very well the Old Museum on Park Row ,the one that was bombed in WW2. I used to go with friends to the Gaumont cinema on Sat. mornings and on our way back to City Sq. to catch the tram home we would always pop in the museum and go down the "coal mine" or wander round looking at the exhibits.I can remember the Bengal Tiger, surely they haven't stuck that old thing back on display?

I seem to remember it's head was falling off or strangely positioned. Hi Cardiarms strangely positioned does that mean it was not at the front. lol

A couple of years ago i took some photos that were supposed to be going on display at the new museum, of BTCV at work at Archbishop Cranmer School.Somehow i still haven't made it in to see if they did go up, remember plodding along a while back and thinking it was the same old tiny place, then when i realised how big and busy it was i decided to come back later. :~

"Well in my capacity as West yorkshire representative of the centre For fortean zoology, I can tell you what the 2Leeds Tiger" is."Were you at a certain party off Brudenell Road, many moons ago, involving a kraken in the punch, a spider god in the cellar and the worst caviar ever?

If you picked up a telephone you could hear native songs / chants from a selection of countries in decidely lo-fi sound, while a red light was illuminated on the map to show you where it was from. Marvellous!
