Gaaaah...I dont believe it!!I drove past the old Fforde Grene today - it's being turned into a 'minimarket' if you know what I mean - not a full-blown supermarket.Anyway someone, who I can only describe as a cretinous numpty, has put gaudy plastic signs covering both of the mosaic courtiers - shown on page one of this thread.Hopefully they're still ok but out of sight.
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

Are you wanting pics of stuff that's gone drapesy, or just what's still extant? These are a couple from a book called "Woodhouse Remembered". They are on leodis as well, but I don't think Melbourne is in the keywords. Think this is the Malt Shovel on the Lower Headrow.Secondly this is the Fox Inn in Woodhouse. The distinctive Perseverance Mills (Peter Laycocks) is still there to get your bearings.PS "Woodhouse Remembered" was produced by the Woodhouse Local History Group, though the pics here are linked from leodis.PPS I think Perseverance Mills is in the frame for development.

[quotenick="rikj"]Are you wanting pics of stuff that's gone drapesy, or just what's still extant?I think the stuff that survives is the most interesting, but hey! it's all good!

Here's something a bit different - a Hunslet R.L programme from 1933 - against Leeds.I like the strap -line " this trade-mark guarantees good beer".Interestingly the ad does not mention the name 'Melbourne' - I assume that they thought beer-drinkers would know anyway!(thanks to www.hunslet.org.uk)
