Wonder what they were repairing? watches?

Probably more to do with size. Delicate ladies shoes as opposed to great big clod hoppers worn by the gents.

One from Beeston Road, on the corner with one of the Parkfields (can't rememeber which one). Think it says "Cash Dividend". The white writing at the bottom is less clear, and maybe was added later.

Advert for Mark Cole Colliery Agent. Looks like there are two different signs on this wall. On Burley Road, near the railway bridge at the bottom of Cardigan Road.

It's look like it might two signs, one showing through the other now that they are wearing out. Does one of the say HOVIS ? Maybe , and perhaps the other says 'TUROG'?? certainly looks like that and it would make sense if it was a Baker's shop I think it says Gore's. Found this newer sign round the corner, on Dewsbury Road. Maybe they moved premises? The original painted sign can be found on page 6 of this thread.

I'm pretty certain that is the shop where as a kid in the 70's we used to get "penny loaves" from. 2 bites and they were gone and I don't think they were ever as little as a penny when they were being bought fo me.
