Howdy folks. I noticed on the back page of the YEP yesterday, a picture from the Leeds/Tottenham game, clearly showing two Leeds players and Jermain Defoe (Spurs striker).According to the caption however, it was a photograph of two Leeds United players looking on as Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes celebrating!

I'm not sure Calendar aren't trying to get in on the act. Tonight on Real Radio just after 5.00 they had a Calendar reporter talking about tonights programme. She mentioned they would be covering Peter Andre who had had a rough week partly because his "former ex wife got married at the weekend"I think it really would have been a rough week for him if that were to be true because it could only be true if he had married her again. The lucky guy hasn't

I think we're seeing the beginning of the demise of the newspaper in print really. Proprietors seem to be running them down and concentrating on online content. The quality end of the market is still, imo, very good. My first job was at the YP when they had 'readers' - a room full of men just reading through copy checking for mistakes that sub-editors had missed. Talking of broadcast newsreaders, do you remember a few years ago when Leeds band Chumbawamba caused chaos at The Brits when Danbert Nobacon chucked water over John Prescott? I seem to recall it was Jan Leeming who completely missed the Egbert No-bacon knock knock joke in his name, and referred to him as Danbert Nobuckon [phonetic]. Hard to get that over in writing but you lot will get what I mean.

There was a similar thing on one of those robot olympic competition shows a few years back, that was hosted by the lass who's name i forget who used to be on robot wars. One of the swimming robots was called "Don't Tell 'Im Pike" but she obviously didn't get the joke and introduced it as "Don't Tell I'm Pike"

The BBC website occasionally drops a clanger:"Actress Brittany Murphy died of pneumonia, but could have survived if she had seen a doctor in time, a Los Angeles coroner has ruled.Coroner's spokesman Craig Harvey added that iron-deficiency anaemia and "multiple drug intoxication" were secondary factors in her death. The drugs were all prescription medicines. More details are due in two weeks when a complete report is ready. The Clueless actress died in December, aged 32."

It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!
