Anyone know anything about the history of the Leeds Oaks baseball team ........... not the current University baseball club but the professional team?I have never had much time for the sport; ok they have decent caps but it really is just glorified rounders ;-)I am currently reading Tony Hannnan's (so far) excellent "Being Eddie Waring: The Life and Times of a Sporting Icon" [ http://www.rbooks.co.uk/product.aspx?id=1845963008 ]. When Eddie Waring took the role of Secretary/Manager at Dewsbury RL at Crown Flatt he quickly entered the Dewsbury Royals into the newly formed Yorkshire Basketball League in 1936; where they played their games at Crown Flatt. This was one of three professional baseball leagues (London Major Baseball League, the North of England League, and the Yorkshire Baseball League) formed by Sir John Moores (of Everton Football Club and his Littlewoods Football Pools fame). The Yorkshire Baseball League included clubs in Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Hull and Dewsbury; which fizzled out during WW2The Leeds side were the afore mentioned Leeds Oaks .......... does anyone know where they played, what sort of crowds, how long they lasted, what were the other teams etc?

I don't know, but judging by the name "Oaks" I'd guess Headingley?
