Thanks, IIRC the Robin Hood before that? A bit before my time though.

Hi everyone,I used to go in the pub in the sixties when it was the 'Robin Hood'. The 'Nag's Head' was nearby.Ian

Saw some activity at the Nelson in Armley today, lots of rubble filling a skip and the remains of what looked like an old Rayburn. It will open again but as an Indian Restaurant.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

I know what you mean! I meant the building and its historic links will remain rather than the site being cleared for another exciting concept in urban living.

Samuel Ledgard, rest his soul, will be turning in his grave - and this will go down very badly with our Society. I only hope that the blue heritage plaque is saved.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

It might be if someone has a chat, before something's done out of ignorance, they seemed friendly enough.

CRAZY JANE re your notes about The Haddon - I remember seeing Dale Hargreaves Flamingos there a good few times in the early eighties. The place was always rammed. I've just discovered there is a Dale Hargreaves Appreciation Society on Facebook. There are loads of photos - some of them playing in The Haddon.

I'm struggling to think what suitable memento the Samuel Ledgard Society could present to the new enterprise to maintain its historic link to the great man. I wondered about a radiator cap from one of his Guy Arabs, but I suppose that'd be the wrong sort of Indian?
