What the articles don tell you is that it isnt the method of construction that is wrong, or that its a huge failure, there is nothing wrong with prefab. It was the human factor that went wrong. Im not going to do the blame game but if you leave module unprotected on site in the snow and rain for 3 days before putting it in the wrong place in the building, ie reinforced ground floor flats on the top floor your bound to have problems. subsidence doesnt help either. The good news is thats we are back home now waiting to find a new place to live in the city 2:24 PM

It looks like a stick of deoderant. It can't be worse than those Opal monstrosities.i think today's pampered, loan supported students have less desire to experience a Rising Damp existance than hardier generations that have gone before.

So they are just going to surround Little London with residences then (on second thoughts.........)Well they could be a stepping stone to bigger things when the students who stay in Leeds after graduating become young professionals but the Landlords will need to spend on them for that market and if they don't then DSS rental seems the only likely remedy as even with the students gone I can't see many being returned to their former glory as single residences (houses)

It's already happening to some extent, families have moved back into the area to the point that the local schools that are left are now oversubscribed. however property prices will remain high while there is a rental demand, if that falls and the potential income falls, the property value will fall.

"If bits of LS4 is anything to go by, some of the letting agencies are getting desperate and sticking chavs and alki's in, i guess because they can't get students, who for their sins, would be less trouble all round.Back in the autumn i took a detour one day to avoid a potential encounter with an exceptionally unpleasant chav family, and found the street i went down instead had several houses with people sat outside getting p*ssed at 11am
