Looks like I need to rig up a B-B-Q and some fold up chairs. I'll check my diary (and the weather forecast) and get back to you. No problem showing a group but the traffic and parking on Leeds Road is dodgy. If several people want to come I'd recommend parking on Taylor Lane and walking a little way.I need to point out that any such visit would be at your own risk - especially as I never have been able to cook sausages properly on a B-B-Q.

Mine looks identical to the one you've linked. The Barwick bunker is most definately not pristine. It is exactly as it was left in 1991 when the post closed. The actual bunker is only about 12ft x 7ft inside so pretty cosy to try and swing any sort of a cat. I don't know how to post private messages on these forums but contact me and we'll sort something out. Sounds Perfect.I'll be intouch.Steven

I've been all over that site doing contract work. It's mostly pump houses, storage, laboratories (some all but abandoned), empty rooms, offices and some mess rooms for Yorkshire water employees. If not see if you can give me the grid ref for Google Earth.Cheers.ps if you go a bit north of there. That's where they film the exteriors Emmerdale.

The Barwick Bunker open day has not happened for several reasons...1) I've been working away a bit lately2) I had to visit a relative on the weekend I'd pencilled in3) The bad weather over recent weeks. It's now looking like the middle of July (when hopefully the weather will be kinder) before I can re-organise. Perhaps Sunday the 15th but I will confirm nearer the time. Please don't go up there without me as the farmer will get pretty worried if people start walking over the crops. It's not a problem if I am there to guide across my part of land.Thanks.

I read the original posts at the beginning about the so called bunkers in Bramley. I havent trawled through all 6 pages to see if anyones wrote again about them so im sorry if i repeat what someones said! The old mill in fallwoods is often mistaken for air raid shelters. In and around the mill I know there are at least 2 shelters because I have ventured into both but they are just full of rubble. However if you go behind the abbey pub (to where the old factory was and the new development is). At the old entrance to the factory which is opposite the cats protection leagues house on the canal bank. There is an air raid shelter complete with furness. I dont know if this has been knocked down now or what. Also dotted around fallwoods there are random small hut type things made of red brick, does anyboys have information on these? Also I am reliably informed that from the Abbey Pub there is a tunnel leading to kirkstall abbey which could explain the name of the pub? does anyboys have more information on this one as well?

I believe the pub was built 700 yrs after the Abbey Deano. Would that make it possible or plausible to have a tunnel between them?
