Clearly your concerned that they have spirits as well thoughTumbleweed

I was looking through thew Leeds Drinkers Campanion put out by Leeds CAMRA some years back. The entry in there for The Old Red Lion, mentions that Sam Smiths bought it in 1947, from a firm of brewers called McQuats on Meadow Lane.

From LeodisDescription:Undated 1964 view of the Red Lion public house on Meadow Lane at the junction with Water Lane. This is now one of the oldest pubs still left around the city centre. A carved stone lion can be seen above the door.
Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?

Don't Know the age of the building but there was Old Red Lion at 122 Meadow Lane in 1853 and a Red Lion in Meadow Lane in 1822.                 Michael
