Another good place too - can't remember its name, but it was where South Accommodation Road rose slightly, and there was a lower "slip road" on the left - that busy cafe did the finest cbacon sandwiches around...If I remember correctly that was The Tomato Dip Cafe,I worked across the road at the Hunslet East goods depot inthe 60's

This is the old waiting room which was on Armley Road at the top of Lamb Hill. The part of the building arrowed was a cafe in the 60's -70's maybe a bit longer and a bit earlier, but that's when I remember it. Can't remember the name of it though.

I seem to remember it was "The Spinning Wheel" or something similar - I think there was a carriage wheel replica in the signing.

Anyone on here recall the legendary Klondike, opposite the bus station.1984 to 1988 I spent many a happy hour in the corner in the wee small hours deciding whether to walk home or wait for the first bus,Very unusual customer base ranging from dossers to full-on drag queens (very convincing too I might add).

Remeber the Klondyke very well.As a Leeds Bus Driver we used to use it regular if we had 20 mins standing time in the Bus Station.The fried egg sandwiches were legendary. He never used a frying pan as such just a standard pan with about 8 inches of dirty and well used oil of some description.But the taste was something else and I am still here to remember them.

somebody on another thread mentioned La Strega is still going.I have never yet managed to get into this cafe because every time I look in it is packed out! I assume it must do good food?seeing as it is the Italian for "The Witch" I always meant to ask how they got their name,but I don't think it is in the original ownership now.
