'Newbie', but long time (& extremely fascinated) browser hereSorry to diverisfy away from Leeds, but there's a pub in Wakefield that is lit by gas-lamps.Well, not in entirety, but parts of it are at least. It still has its small rooms (& 'dining chambers') that haven't really been altered for the last 100years +It's the 'Kings Arms' up on Heath Common.http://www.hbclark.co.uk/kingsarms/inde ... e%20357199

Gosh yes - I remember have a drink or two at the Kings Arms when I was in my early twenties .... and that would be in the early 80's before anyone makes a wise crack!Just for info, and I KNOW this isn't Leeds but it is gas lamps - I believe the third largest user of gas illumination in England is the Worth Valley Railway over t'Haworth way - 5 out of 6 stations plus car parks and yards use gas!

I might be wrong but I think i saw a non-functioning one in the hedge on Gelderd Road, just before the Gildersome Arms traffic lights on the left as you head towards Birstall. I was driving and OH had a fit about keeping my eyes on the road and stopping at the traffic lights or something, so can anybody up that way clarify?
