Walking up towards the Corn Exchange the other day it struck me how much i dislike that Cornucopia mural. It's fussy yet bland, obtrusive and yet instantly forgetable. A crime surely for something so large. After nearly twenty years of this artistic folly is'nt it time for something different. Personally (here we go) i'd paint over it and replace it with a massive THIS IS LEODIS in bold gold lettering. What do other S.L members think?

We want the Guinesss clock back.Apparently its a big thing in Ireland to replace these old Guiness adverts.
My flickr pictures are herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/Because lunacy was the influence for an album. It goes without saying that an album about lunacy will breed a lunatics obsessions with an album - The Dark side of the moon!

Individual likes and dislikes aside, this has become a little bit of Leeds - and perhaps just one of the rather diverse range of things from Leeds passing if not past, which SL campaigns to save rather than loose for ever.

The problem is, and i feel this has been reflected in the lack of response to my original question is that the mural is so bland hardly anyone notices it's there in the first place. When i've mentioned it to people who incidentally have lived in Leeds all their life the responce i always get is"what mural?" Secret cellars yes, secret tunnels under the station yes,but secret massive lacklustre mural plonked in middle of city centre that no one even notices and its right in front of their eyes NO!

It has been said by many on here, walk round town looking up and you'll find a world you never new was there - case in point perhaps, so much goes unseen.
