Leeds lost pubs

I once saw an unfortunate piece of typsetting in a newspaper refering to a man who worked as some sort of therapist in Penistone. Due to the flow of the text the sentence cut across a column and it read:bla bla bla Mr John smith, the-rapist, of Penistone....

Another one to add to the list; The Scott Hall at the junction of Scott Hall Grove and Sholebroke Mount. It's been gone for a lot of years [25 at least] but just been reminded of it. I seem cant remember if it was a Charringtons or a Whitbread house.

Must say this is a fascinating and warmly sentimental post. I recently wrote an essay on Brodrick's influence on Leeds and its interesting to trace the watering holes which also shaped the city.Can anyone tell me about a former pub on Pudsey Road in Bramley near the Wickes roundabout. Its on the Pudsey side of the roundabout a bit further up Pudsey Road on the right hand side after the turnoff for Swinnow lane . There is a Cartwheel on the wall and there are 2 black horses heads flanking the entrance - it's now a set of flats.I'd guess it might have once been the "Coach and Horses"? Does this ring any bells with anyone?Cheers.

Back in the early 1960s I played with Al Crossland's Jazz Band in a pub on the Tadcaster Road called The Wild Man. Once a man went wild and danced on his table as we played with his trousers round his ankles. Whether he was inspired by us or by the pub's name we never quite worked out, although the trad revival WAS in full flush at the time. Can't find a pub of that name on the Tadcaster Road now. Does anyone know if it still exists under a new name, or if its been demolished? I confess I have no idea what the area is like now - maybe it's vanished under a motorway?
