In the library gardens that has been open you years to walk around and play is not no longer its going to be a centre for the black community sounds about right some where for them to go.I am not saying no more as it will be taken the wrong way.

There in lies the problem with race relations biggee,you can express an opinion on such issues and be branded racist.Im vehemintly anti racist/BNP,but i am also annoyed that specific groups get particular attention at the exclusion of others who live in a particular area.I am originally from the Compton myself and i have noticed that the racial make up has drastically changed since the early 90s,but nevertheless its still a wide mix.Making specific centres for specific minorities is, in my opinion, breeds racst feelings amongst the disefranchised in itself.All of the ethnic minorities and the indigenous persons in the area should all be catered for in one place.In Beeston there is whats called the "Hamara " centre which offers advice and classes to those who have come from the asian sub continent.The very name of the centre is like a bar to all those others who live in the area,which now includes a very large number of immigrants from eastern europe and Africa,why not call it the Tempest Road Centre?.The advertising of the facilities at the centre make no bones about the specific targets of this centre,which is those from the asian sub continent.So what about everyone else who needs free advice on a number of subjects,or classes in self awarenes, fitness etc etc.This is the sort of thing that plays into the hands of the far right.instead of encouraging ethnic minorities to mix and interact with all around them, this specific targeting of public resources breeds contempt and suspiscion into those outside of its target criteria and also holds those within this criteria at arms length from those members of the community around them that do not share the same ethnic background.If we are to have such centres then they should be for all,so suspisions and ignorance of others can be taken away by a getting together of all of those from different backrounds that live in the area.Multiculturism has failed,i believe that we all need a sense of national identity so we can all share common aspirations such as freedom of choice,frredom of speech and the rights of others to do so as well,even if we dont always agree with them .Yet there is no united sense of belonging and national identity within all of the various ethnic groups in this country.I would not wish to impose some false sense of new found belonging on these ethnic groups as they have been encouraged by multicultural ideals to be seperated socially from everyone else.Yet if we dont all have a national sense of belonging and ideals then we will find our selves in a very sticky situation with the ethnic minorities feeling even more estranged from the land they live in and the right wing expoilting the the fear and suspisions of the indigenous population that is not having its concerns addressed by the mainsteam political parties.It must be now done gradually and voluntarily,and the only way to do this is to break down barriers and walls,and one of these walls is specifically targeted help centres.Rant over,Brandys lines come in please.

Some valid points Chris and I think you are correct in saying that sometimes, attempts to create being inclusive, however well intentioned as I'm sure they are, fail to do so because they are made so exclusive to so many others. This in turn, human nature being what it is can create a stronger sense of segregation and even antaginism between all groups. Perhaps allowing ourselves to more readily understand each other is a way to go.There's alot can be done here so, just a dotted line .......................................................................................................

its an absolute joke, i dont care ill speak my mind cos i kno im not a racist as i have black friends , half pakistani friends etc.but u kno its bad when these people will openly say that immigration has robbed the country of all its englishness that the actual english are treated as 2nd class citizens n its true,these friends of mine kno people who have used the race card at the drop of a hat , i.e cos they got sacked for strollin in 3hours late 78th day in a row!but they shout its cos of race but although he in the wrong noone wants to say owt cos theyll be branded racist,if i was to do that i would get laughed at 'a white man the victim of racism , i never heard such a thing!' is the mentallity of it.i come from a mostly asian area with somalis , poles but mostly asians guess what it is an aboslute disgrace of an area n if u look at places like this (harehills,bradford,beeston,birmingham) where its mostly asian do u notice anything?that they all areas of disgrace the streets are filthy with rubbish all over the bins never inside them.it must be more than coincidence as birmingham is so far from beeston but it looks just as s**t! i watched calendar the other day there was 2 asian lads sat in a car in bradford sayin 'yea yea we think al'qaeda are good , pakistan would definatley be a better place if they were in power' so they support them which i believe is a cause for concern especially since these people r in this country.these people dont even kno what they onnabout,these lads were sat there in there western car , western fones , western clothes on western tv.something not many people kno but when u think of slave trade u automatically think black , if u type it in2 google it brings up monument photos , the monument been black people, well the irish were used as slaves before africans they were treated worse and even cost less than a black man,many were sent to work hot countries n as a result died as they couldnt handle it,so black people were sent as they could handle the hot climate,wasnt a race thing!then they made the black men rape irish women to make half black slave kids 1.they would have the quality of a black man to be able to work in heat 2.they were born slave therefore been property of the master.an irish slave would cost 5 sterlin a black man would cost bout 50 , hmmm yea u kno i can see how the blacks were oppressed!its all aload of s**t, if we were against them o much then why did we enslave the irish aswell n most other people who ever we came by wasnt about race it was about cash and lots of it so tell me why is the irish slave trade never discussed why is it not in school books why in school do sum kids learn about black history n how they were opressed when like i say it happened to the irish aswell before the blacks but wheres the monuments to the irish who died? i believe they need to be remembered as the suffered alot more!this country was great once n because we didnt stand for it, sumhow sumones made us scared of speakin out remember silver jubilee n stuff like that can u honestly see the celebrations been like how it used to be?not a chance , where i live u wasnt even allowed to put up england flags when world cup was on as it may offend!!! whats that!!! the people in france that are breaking the fences for immigrants and causin allsorts of trouble on the boarder are sayin 'we need to take these fences down,we believe people should be able to live wherever they want' ok fair enough but u got to ask why do they all want to come here?they already escaped there country and are in a different one (france) but why not stay there cos they kno itll be ok u here now but u not gettin benefits or housin or owt (if i went to pakistan and demanded a house and cash they would shoot me!) but if the come here we give it all to them on a plate , ask urself how many homeless asian people do u see? why are the homeless always our own that weve just cast aside just like the rest of the english nation
