isn't including people who were born in Leeds but moved away years before they were famous AND those whose connections with Leeds are that they wenrt to university in Leeds for a couple of years cheating...ie Soft Cell (come from Blackpool and Southport), Sisters of Mercy (come from various other parts of country),Gang of Four (London and Lancashire), Chumbawamba (various other parts of England) etcbut you have missed out Peter Sellars who although born in Southsea (his showbiz parents were on the road at the time) his dad's family were Loiners...And anyway he's far more significant than a few half-arsed pop/rock groups who'll be forgotten in a few years...

Is Ian McGeechan actually from Leeds? Does anyone know, he played his club Rugby for Headingley (precursor of Leeds Carnegie) but his international Rugby for Scotland. He always sounds slightly Scottish to me - a bit like Peter Lorimer, someone who spent his early years in Scotland but most of his life in Leeds.
