Hi all - just came across this on tinterweb... Interesting. I bet I know who has put them together as well: an acquaintance of mine is married to one of the chaps who wrote the 'B*ll*cks to Alton Towers' books and she works for, yep, the Guardian.

I've followed the link, am I right in thinking they are not displaying this on the web, and its only a supplemment to the actual paper?

I wouldn't be surprised - they do want people to buy the paper occasionally. There are probably copyright issues too.

Rather disapointing I thought, vague and little that is really mysterious. One thing caught my eye - 'Abandoned Village.....'Not ours though, and hardly abandoned, Eyam, perhaps one of the best known in Derbyshire.

I just picked up the Observer and the first piece in the booklet just points out how odd our country is in the first place - that you can go twenty miles and be somewhere where people speak with a different accent and have different histories and traditions, so you have to make choices. Todays includes bits on the Thackray Museum and the Brudenell Social Club, and also the National Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft, which if those of you with a transport bent don't know, is to the east of Doncaster, on a former RAF base in the cabbage lands just off the M180.
