There are only 10 types of people in the world -those who understand binary, and those that don't.

This is not about gas lamps but about electric lights made to look like gas lamps. The council in there wisdom started to change all the lamps on Fullneck Pudsey they put in all the new posts ready for the new lamps to go on top then had to stop. This is a listed site so all the posts had to be taken out and new posts more fitting with the area had to be put in with tops that look like gas lamps i must say its a job well done.

I'm obsessed with looking for them now, ever since I found this thread! The one Brandy kindly posted for me was, like I say, in Headingley but it was the only one I saw and I was in all the old areas, Cumberland Road/Grosvenor Road etc. A little old lady in the house opposite saw me loitering around the driveway and gave me some funny looks but nothing was going to stop me papping that lamp! Bet the house looked beautiful back in the day, nice sweeping driveway with a couple of lamps burning at the end
