Not pleasant.Still, all good fun growing up round there! Me and 3 other lads, Robert Halpen, one of the smithy brothers(black lad) and someone else climbed the water tower years agoin the 80s. We had to chuffle across a big pipe first then climb over the railing to get up the spiral staircase. As soon as we did this someone from the synagogue spotted us and dragged us back to the synagogue to phone the police.I was especially gutted cos I was still on the pipe at the time and never managed to climb the damn thing.!!!
