I used to go down the alley from the corn exchange into Kirkgate.On the wall was two sandstone skulls that had a legend attached to them.Eventually the skulls went and the base of them remained.Anyone else remember them, their story, where they went, and is the alley gone?

thanks for all the information. I se that i was wrong in my thinking. it was the cloth hall Ken Goor mentioned come to think of it.I got muddled.I hope something is done with it, it is a real eyesore as it is and as said earlier, must be in danger of colapse by now!

it was parksider who wanted the skull info actually not myself. Interesting though. I had heard about the skulls on a ghost walk as the two deceased were supposed to haunt the spot.the story is mentioned in Kenneth Goors excellent book "Haunted Leeds" published last year in paperback by Tempus.
