Hey,This is a bit of a long shot but there's a strange structure I pass on my way into uni...it's a metal and glass pyramid set into the grass behind the University Union. I was just wondering if anyone could shed any light onto its function, etc - I've heard there's something of a network of passages below the campus. It'll probably turn out to be a lot less glamorous than I'd imagined, but any information would be appreciated! One possible avenue was that it was part of Mine, the basement restaurant to the rear of the Union but I couldn't find any viable access from inside the building. Thanks,Sarge

It's behind the Mine bar - there used to be a workshop theatre in the basement of the Union (in the 1990s) and I think the pyramid was a skylight and emergency exit from that - certainly the external door is still there. As far as I know, the theatre hasn't been in use for years - it may now be part of the Union nightclubs Stylus and Pulse. The network of tunnels you mention aren't very far below ground and are services ducts.
