Initially, and im pretty sure some will remember, a few (yes including me) were quite vocal in some of the actions of the admin. However, on the whole you've done pretty well in maintaining the status quo. I did think admin were a little, and I don't want this to sound like an insult (but it may do, but thats not my intention) anal in it;s approach to the way it moderated the board. I do believe that you have now gone down the right path of leaving it be. The way we admin MOT is just that. Leave it until such time as it is required to be moderated. Things can get messy, but what the h*ll.Anywayenough of my ramblings... Have a cracking xmas both you and monks!

Thing is SimonM, this site is paid for and maintained by Marketing Leeds with public money, so we have a duty of care to all the people that might want to use the site - from children to OAPs, all colours, creeds, etc.Henceforth bad language, offensive attitudes, aggressive behaviour and generally behaving like a muppet, are all much less acceptable than they would be if this site were privately owned and run by me and munki.Having said that, I think the issue of trust is an important one. We have trusted you guys enough to let the site run itself moreorless. In the vast majority of cases that trust has been paid back many times over. In a few instances people post moronic drivel that contributes nothing and is mildly to moderately offensive. Munki and I don't edit that stuff any more as we can't do with the hassle that we get as a result, but the result is a flabby, waffley site, that's becoming increasingly difficult to interrogate for good info. Plenty of 'banter' but that's not really the purpose of the site.So the only solution I can think of is to empower the users even further - this is a Web 2.0 world we live in innit? By putting it out to the users I hope the system will continue to look after itself. Will try and stay a bit more involved myself anyway, have been getting well slack lately!Cheers, dsco
