Hopefully the gaudiness will have worn off by November when I hope to return for my nostalgia trip!! I hope the beers' good I wouldn't get your hopes up.Drove past today - the 'under new management' banner's still there - but the place is closed and metal shutters are up.

Once again haven't combed through every page of this thread again (read them all once!) so these could already have been mentioned but I've noticed The Pointer (Sheepscar) looks pretty closed, as does the Crown (sort of leaving the central Leeds on the way to Hunslet - don't know exact name of street) and finally I noticed Rag and Louse in Yeadon shut early on a Friday evening...which doesn't look too good...hope that one's not gone as I quite liked it in there the couple of times I went in...shame about the dodgy early 90s "funny" name though

I doubt it will be mourned much but I haven't seen the Portland/Watering Hole (formerly the Hogs Head) on Great George Street open recently. No boards or shutters and I only pass it between 5.00 and 6.00pm weekdays so it might be open lunchtime and evenings but........

Also the beautiful Mulberry on Hunslet Road seems to be open and closed alternately every time you drive past.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Can anyone give any info on when this pub closed or any other relevant info. yep! pretty certain it closed in1992.funny,but i hated the place (even though i used it) as soon as it closed,i missed it.i would like to see a photo of it at its prime as 'the courtier',as it was in my youth.

Being a Fairway lad I'm surprised you ever made it to the bottom of the hill. I never knew it as the Oak Tree only the Courtiers, same as I could never bring myself around to calling Coldcotes 'Oak Tree' either.

I dunno if this has appeared on here but I was told last night that the Wellington on Low Road in Hunslet is boarded up, I drive past this a lot and to be quite honest it never looked open, was it open? Or had it been closed for a while until finally being boarded up.
Short in arm and long in pocket, been a long time but I am making a re-appearance!!!!

The Waggon and Horses at the Holbeck side of the motorway is looking like it might be about to be demolished.
