Just browsing over those fantastic photos again when I remembered that the Miss Selfridges shop on Lands Lane has some similar marble and metal staircases and an old style cage type lift at the back. Don't know if any of you intrepid photographers would dare venture into Miss Selfridges (or maybe you already have!) but I think they are definitely worth a photo or two. I don't know one of a camera from the other or I'd do it myself.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

Does no one in the planning department care about what is taken out of buildings when being refurbished its no wonder people say when you have seen one you have seen them all.It would not suprise me to hear that they have been sold they would be worth a lot more than the replacment escalaters but then Leeds is not known for its forward thinking as you will know from the shambles of the fiftys and sixties developments.PS I hear we have won an award for the ugliest building why does that not suprise me.

Does no one in planning department care? As I said earlier the building IS NOT listed, therefore the interior of the building has as much protection in legislation terms as a living room with flock wallpaper in a 1970's semi in Kirstall! Planning officers have no control whatsoever over the interior of buildings if they are not listed! I agree the units internally look [edited for content], with the crappie suspended cellings and its a shame when u compare it to the granduer of the old Alders. Instead of people moaning, u should have put ur efforts in lobbying English Hertiage to get the building listed, which would have given the interior immediate protection!
