Saw him Saturday afternoon just gone, on the main road from Shipley to Bradford near Bradford Grammer School. Still in his sandals, etc., waving as he walks.

Back the serious original post lol.....I have heard of a "religious" guy walking somewhere on the outskirts of Leeds (obvious from my writing, I didn't actually see but but I know somebody who did)....Although I'm sure they told me they saw a "monk", maybe they said "priest"?

"Apparantly" he's called Geoffrey and relies on friends and such to put him up for the night, feed him and let him shower. There's an urban myth that he's about 150 years old as numerous people have seen him for up to 50 years and he never seems to age!!!There's a group about him on Facebook, with some very interesting(!) sightings etc etc http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2254090017 You'll have to be a member of Facebook to view it though. Here's what a couple of peeps have said about him :-"Sorry people but i know the truth. This guy is my grandad's best friend!!! He's called Jeffrey and he's nearly 70 years old. He served his time in the army working in the kitchens, and decided from there that he was not going to rely on society to live!! He rely's on the friends that he's made over the years to put him up for the night, give him food and let him shower. He has never been married and has never had children. He did however win 1/4 million on vernons pools and gave it away to different charities. he dresses in the robe because its a sign of freedom. Sorry people but that's all the knowledge ive got lol. Love this group though keep it going!!!!""He always shows up when you think about him, it's like thinking of a song when ur listening to the radio, and it comes on!!! my mum (60) used to see him when she was little too. she said he looked just the same then! i spoke to some people while on holiday in the canaries once and they were from liverpool and pinner, essex. they both knew exactly who i was talking about, so it seems he certainly doesn't limit himself to bradford, or even yorkshire. my girlfriend once was standing outside mario's in town when he came up to her and started screaming abuse at her for having a fag!, he called her a harlot and a loose woman!!! but thats the only time i have ever heard of him being mean""I think he must be older than that, although he doesn't look it. My mum and my husbands dad used to work ai International Harvesters many moons ago, and both of them said that he worked there at some time, and his name is Jeffery. I understand that he was married, and had two boys. Of course this could have been just conjecture over the years.Taking into account that my mum died 14 years ago aged 74, He must be older than 70! I have seen him on more than one occaision as I have been driving round the Chain Bar roundabout.""As someone who knows. He is apparently not a very nice man at all and lives with someone rather vulnerable, who is not well himself and has been doing so for the last thirty years or so. He was once a mechanic, then found god. The stuff about him being a millionaire is not true. He isnt funny and he isnt nice. Believe me, you wouldn't want him in your house. "So there you go.

I saw him about a month since he was walking past Stanningley Fire Station towards Bradford.I have seen him over the years so i know it was the same guy as others have said he does not seem to age has he found the elixir of life? I could do with some of that myself.
