MANY BANKS INCLUDING THE YORKSHIRE PENNY BANKHAVE CLOSED BRANCHES OVER THE RECENT YEARS.LOTS OF THESE WERE LOCATED ON PRIME CORNER SITESPRIOR TO CLOSURE.HOW MANY CAN YOU REMEMBER?????????????????Mabgate - a tyre businessBurley Road/Cardidam Road - a DecoratorKirkgate - An amusements arcade.North Street - a computer businnes..Where are the others?????????????????

Hi Si your right about the one at Copley Hill there is also one at the bottom of Domestic Street near were Readmans was.There used to be one on Dewsbury Road on the parade of shops opposite the drop in centre.

Ere wi go agen!When I were at Burley Road Skooil In 1936!!!,The Lord mayor of Leeds presented all schoolkidsacross Leeds with a YPB Bankbook with a WHOLESixpence in your named account!! S'true!I think me dad made me draw it out as he'd run shortof Woodies! (Kidding!). Me mam made me put tuppence a week inwhich was paid in at school and entered in the bankbook!The YPB branch was at the corner of Westfield Road andWoodsley Rd. Can't recall if it's still there now?
