Here's a pic taken in 1975, according to Leodis, after the market fire, which shows both Millgarth police stations co-existing. The old street lay-out is clear, as is the site of the baths.

Sorry...gone a bit picture-posting mad this morning, but here's a shot showing the west end of the area was a car-park in 1947. Apparently, a static water tank for emergency use was excavated under here during the last war. The buildings on Back George Street look well old and knackered. Kirkgate Market towers above the background.Picture courtesy of Leodis.

I've tried to overlay the two maps, the modern aerial and the one Si has posted as best I can.The two streets, Harewood and Cross Union seem to marry up, but it looks like the wall that is there nowadays with the tiled brick (I cant remember what they are called. Is it enamel brick?) is tiled on the wrong side to be part of the wall of the baths. Was this the back of the Police Station? If someone has the tecnology to overlay better than the crude wa I have do it that would be great.

...and one from 1947. Makes a nice comparison, shot from the same place, nearly. Has this pub appeared on the Lost Pubs thread? I'll stick one on there, anyway. Both pics via Leodis again.
