I've only just joined, so the answer to this question has probably been posted before. Sorry for that but, just in case it hasn't, it was The Number 18. I know, because my bus home left from just outside it.Here's another one. Does anyone else remember the Del Rio up Lower Basinghall Street? It must be under British Home Stores now, I think. Just a thought has the Tomato Dip that used to be on Kirkstall Road opposite YTV been mentioned? Was the cafe near Maturis called the Four Cousins at one time?

He started out near the Torre Road / York Road junction, then when it was being redeveloped he moved to Meanwood Road. This was in the early 70'sI'll admit to being addicted to his pie & peas I've been known to take 7 or 8 hamburgers there after a night in the Ace of Clubs.

It opened I think about 1960 and was a very popular venue for the 16 to 25 year old population. Can anyone help with memories or even photos? If you do a search the Carousel is mentioned a few times. While I'm on, where's the best place near the Headrow these days for a Sunday morning hangover fry up?

Check up on Wetherspoons pubs - they do good breakfasts, but I'm not sure about the opening hours on Sundays. There is one in Park Row (Beckets Bank), another in Merrion Way (Stick or Twist) a new one next to the Civic Hall (Cuthbert Broderick) and another in the railway station. In the old Leeds Permanent on The Headrow is "Brown's Hotel - I think that may be pricey.

Thanks Blakey! Becketts Bank opens at 09:00 on Sundays and has a good breakfast menu. That's sorted then. http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/pubs/pub ... er=246Just noticed on the web page's hall of fame for this pub someone calling himself Phil Mccracken.

I think I should find a secure seat right quick once you've ordered - and if I'd been him I'd have splashed out on a deed poll and got rid of that - unless of course it served his purpose. Well spotted !! - and enjoy your nosh.
