I'm trying to work out what the figure is at the bottom of the Easy Road sign - it looks like a cartoon dog.I'll post a bit in the appropriate thread about my walkabout in Cross Green this morning.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

The Yorkshire Evening News was the Yorkshire Evening Post's rival for many years (both printed in Leeds)- and I suppose its no coincidence that this sign was adjacent to the cricket/rugby grounds where there would be plenty of customers, and sellers walking round the grounds on match days. The Evening News closed c 1963 I believe.

Further to above - it looks like the difficult to read message at the bottom is "Best for sport"
