When the Beiderbecke Tapes (James Bolam, Barbara Flynn) was being filmed in Chapel Allerton I got to visit the set to interview the writer, Alan Plater (from Hull). They'd taken over a semi and restyled it in a tasteless way to depict the home of a "defrocked bank manager", complete with naff garden gnomes. When they'd finished filming the couple who owned the house asked if it could be left that way as they thought it was an improvement!

While I am sure security considerations had something to do with the "location" filming I would think budgetary considerations probably swung it as unless I am very much mistaken harry's game was a YTV production I watched Harry's Game,on DVD, recently and there's lot's of Burley around Alexander Road and The Harolds. Also there's the 'safe house' which was in one of the old maisonettes on Argie Avenue.

hi guys i'm new to this site so hello, just been scolling through and noticed no one had mentioned these:The school in Emmerdale is filmed at Benton Park High in Yeadon/Guisley. and does any one remember late 80's or early 90's a childrens programme that was on ITV around 4pm, was set around Leeds, it was filmed at Abby Grange school. i knew a lad who was on that and lived in Leeds called Paul Booth? i dont think his acting career took off though as he came to my house when i rang for a windows quote. bless him. also i remember the no angles episode where they used Daves Bazzarr shop at bottom of town street in Armley.

Some of "The 1940s House" was shot in Otley. It was on one of the Sky channels recently. A family from Otley lived for a while as if during the Second World War - rationing, gas-masks, Anderson shelters, etc.

I'm sure there was some dreary low budget daytime soap filmed in a semi in Woodlesford. It "starred" Kenneth Cope of occasional Carry On Film and Randall & Hopkirk Deceased fame.
Ravioli, ravioli followed by ravioli. I happen to like ravioli.

I lived on Glensdale grove in the early 90's. A film crew came down to film a scene for a drama with Denis Waterman in it..I think it was called 'cry of the wolf'. A bit like Harry's game, about an undercover S.A.S officer. They changed Glensdale grove into Falls Road ( not hard to do) and filmed a shootout between the I.R.A and the British Army. Also a fantastic stunt with a ford escort. The same night they changed East Park Road into a London street with a red double decker running up and down it all night. Anybody remember this ?

I remember Arthur Mullard filming for some (probably naff) TV show in the Holt Park area sometime in the late 70's. They used a house at the bottom of Holt Park Approach and constructed a fake (and kitsch) garden pond complete with gnomes on the front lawn.Remember the filming but never saw the show on TV.Not sure if anyone's mentioned Top Town that was filmed in Leeds with teams from rival towns competing for the honours of their home city - hosted by DLT I think - my mum was in the pilot episode!

Anyone know what was being filmed at the bottom of Cardigan Road yesterday? The car park between Kirkstall Road and Burley Road (not far from Yorkshire telly!) was full of the usual sparkie's vans, chuck wagons and 'trailers.'
