Wonderful photos of St. Barts. have not seen inside the church since the nineteen fifties. Superb restoration work! Brought up in Colton Road, went to the primary school next door before going onto Upper Wortley. As kids we used to play in the graveyard on the odd occasion as this was overgrown and in a bit of a state. Good for playing soldiers, cowboys and indians, hide and seek etc.

Got married at St Barts in 1969. Nearly 40 years ago and only regretted one day!

My mum and dad were married at St Barts as were my dads 5 brothers and their wives, I was in the choir in the early 70's, but my nads dropped and that was it! I was also christened there.

Does anyone know of past organists here. I believe my hubbies granddad might have been one in the 1920's or 1930's but we cant find any info.

Perhaps it was just a family tale that's got changed over the years ! His name was Richard Hardisty if he crops up on anything to do with the church (He's not spoken about because we think he ended up in prison - but that might be another family mis-tale).
