Administratively (sp, even if the word exists) Yes they do now live in Lncashire, However, the old ridings of West, North and East cover the original area of Yorkshire and are STILL legal if used in addresses etc. So even if you do find yourself in Lancashire, you can still ignore it and put West Riding of Yorkshire if you so feel that way inclined! Actually if you go to the parts of Yorkshire taken over by Lancashire there are indications that at least some of the people who live there acknowledge that it used to be Yorkhsire. Around Clitheroe, when you come from Gisburn there is a sign that reads "Welcome to the Historic County Palatine of Lancashire" hinting that you weren't really in Lancashire before - the same if you head out of Colne towards Foulridge. The badge of Saddleworth (Greenfield, Uppermill, Diggle, Dobcross, Denshaw and Delph) is actually a White Rose, Delph still play cricket in the Huddersfield League and there was some aggitation a couple of years ago for a return to Yorkshire.

It all kind-of depends on who you're talking to, & how well they know the area, doesn't it?If I am talking to someone from Stockport, I tell them I'm from Woodford. If I'm talking to someone from Manchester, I say Stockport. To someone from Leeds, I say Manchester. If I was talking to someone from Mars, I'd probably just say I was from the Earth.Actually, usually I just say 'Leeds', cause I am too lazy to say anything else.

You can usually say Morley to someone from Yorkshire, Lancashire, North Lincs or N.E Derbyshire and they know where you mean because Morley is the nearest major settlement to where the M1 and M62 cross, but anyone from the rest of the country it's easier just to say Leeds. My daughter's nickname at work is "Leeds" she works at Quinetiq at Porton Down near Salisbury.
