It's very Lowry looking. Hi Phill, I was going by what I read on page 2 of this thread, maybe those guys have more info.

What an absolute poignant masterpiece your video is Phill - the only description is "totally professional" - I thank you for it.I also think that the Braime building seems to be "frozen in the time of the Industrial revolution" and seems even more so as the adjacent areas are progessively modernised and altered. I believe it is to be closed, but is perhaps still in use ??, and certainly the Lowrey figures would be quite appropriate in the yard !!
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Well thanks Blakey. That's a great compliment. I really appreciate that. Well I shall have to look into this Braimes, I am impressed by it myself and think the same as you that it is 'in a time warp' I did pass the other night & there were lights on. It didn't have that abandoned feel to it.

Last i heard about Braimes is that the building was unoccupied by the owners through negotiations with the council and English Heritage. The council have published a report into what they want for the whole area, and it looks to me like the building itself will remain intact to a certain degree, but with a new useBraimes have not gone out of business, infact they are an international company. Here is alink to an old YEP news itemhttp://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/Fir ... 2946553.jp
