I've worked in engineering since school and have picked up one or two curious expressions.A job done for oneself was a 'guvvy' e.g.Arrys petrol cigarette lighters.A workmate from the West Country referred to the same as 'foreigners'.We called coolant 'suds' he said it was 'compo'.After recent stock-taking at work all the newly counted stacks of steel are called 'rucks'.
