I always think of Leeds's dialect as being a sort of "Yorkshire Cockney" big city style of talk - obviously Liz Dawn epitomised the Leeds dialect for me. But then Bradford is not that much different - or Pudsey. Born and bred Morleans like me will "go to Leeds" Loiners who live in Morley will "go to Town" Morley was a pit and mill town and to be truthful although part of Leeds for nearly 35 years, has more in common in its speech patterns with Batley Dewsbury and Ossett. the widespread use of the glottal stop certainly emphasises the cockney thing you are on about.writng downtrhe Leedsese for 'isn't it' is just about impossiblesort of 'inhe'people in leeds tend to say 'I aren't' for 'I'm not'and 'heighth' for height.
