So why all the silence about where this village is, and why is it totally deserted if nothing untoward went on?It all seems abit odd to me but it's somewhere I have known about but never found the whereabouts of for a while now and I't looks a really good place to gain some good photos it isn't/wasn't a village.I've explained what it was.after it closed as a community home with education it was used as temporary student accommodation. Then the students left and the site was put up for sale.IT closed because the accommodation was obsolete and because changes in government policy regarding young offenders. The secure unit built in 1980 is still in operation.by the way just so's you know if you enter the site you are trespassing. Sorry i'm just trying to get my head round it so the place is like a mini campus?I still don't get why the people who have been to photograph it wan't to keep it such a secret though?? Sorry for rambling on!

There's really no big secret... You shouldn't believe everything you read. Journalists wouldn't sell newspapers if they told the boring truth would they? I'd take it with a very large pinch of salt myself, After all, you don't won't the bad men in long black coats knocking on your door do you lol

Sorry for rambling on! that's exactly what it was a campus of house units and educational facilities.it has been in the media, but making a big deal of having a massive, empty facility full of copper piping, slate and so on isn't a good idea. It still hasn't stopped the place being pillaged though
I went down to the crossroads and got down on my knees

'it has been in the media, but making a big deal of having a massive, empty facility full of copper piping, slate and so on isn't a good idea. Precisely what has happened to a beutiful listed building in Seacroft, left so long, there's not much of it left to preserve.

Exactly Chamaleon. For once I thought I wouldn't document the place like I normally do. I told no porkies, I only documented the place and how you would feel if you happened to stumble upon it. There is even a face book group called 'the haunted village of Adel' group. It just shows you the interest in this type of thing. 13 of my most boring pictures have had 4,122 views in 6 days. Amazing.

Sorry if I've hit a nerve with anyone over this. The only reason I've been iterested in this for a while is because I like to photograph churches (sounds abit depressing!) I've seen a couple of pictures and heard about it but nobody ever seemed to want to give away the location. Been from the other side of Leeds I have never heard of this place before. I stumbled across this site and looking at all the threads thought it was probably the best place to askI assure you that1. If i go to take any pictures of anything on private land I will be asking for permission first.2. I'm not into stealing lead pipe and slate tiles!
