Nice one Chamaleon.. Well i've already done a bit of tunnel exploration in the town hall last year. We found nothing except ending up filthy for our efforts.. some you win, some you don't. Cheers

Where to meet?Well as long as its central for everyone,(Town?) AND it has a decent selection of good Ales then i think the size of the venue would be a little further down as im sure that not a large number of members would be able to attend.Behind Sams was a pub called Dr Oetkers, which over the years has had a couple of name changes but would appear to have a good selection of ale, unfortunately it was very busy on Friday so would imagine it is the same on saturday.Victoria is another option, though i have heard its ale range has gone down hill(is that true anyone?)Scarborough is a bit on the small side and is always very busy,so is the Prince of Wales, though this has a back room which largely remains empty even on a saturday night.Angel is a top place but is tiny,Whitelocks is very busy most nights, and whenever i have been in recently the beers have mostly been off and the choice limited. The Duck is a top place, and so is the Palace, a little bit off the beaten track but worth the walk.We could of course alternate between any of these venues,or of course any others that you can think of (though i think the Vine and Three Legs are not what i would personally consider) we could also do all of the above in one night!!!

Behind Uncle Sam's, Baroque it used to be didn't it? Copper Dragon Pippin amongst others.Did someone mention Adnam's from Sufolk? yes, not as good as it's made out to be, but good in a steak and ale caserole - they do make an amazing Adnam's Christmas Pud which is worth having though! This row of original Houses in Southwold is actually part of Adnams Brewery with the main building sat at the back of these. Looking through the windows you'll see a line of kegs trundling past'

Many thanks from myself, wife and two guests for a very entertaining evening and an excellent feed.It was quality, and you can't buy that.Wonderful also to be able to put faces to some of the names on the forum. Thanks again to Munki & dsco for all their efforts. If there's a chance of a pub meet - we'll be there.
We wanted to make Leeds a better place for the future - but we're losing it. The tide is going out beneath our feet.

The Victoria & Commercial ale is still good. I popped in prior to going over to the town Hall. it would be a good venue if we could get to hire one of the rooms. The Palace is good but gets very busy and depends how many would turn up, might get very crushed! The grove is also great but busy, although using one of the rooms mid-week might work?town Hall tavern seems to be quiet in the evenings, might be an idea, plus lots of fascinating pictures on the walls.
Steve JonesI don't know everything, I just like to give that impression!

Town Hall tavern sounds good, has Landlord in i believe.I would be surprised if there were a lot of people interested in a regular meet,so perhaps the hire of a room may not be necessary.

Okay, lets be proactive here.Register your interest in a meet. Not actually thinking of a spread, more of a get together over some decent beer.If theres enough interested then lets sort it out.
