The small hotel / B&B that Frost stayed in whilst his house was being rebuilt after the fire was the rather modest Broomfield Hotel on the corner of Broomfield Crescent and Chapel Lane in Headingley. The episode in which a scrote on a motor scooter had kidnapped a female shop assistant was set in Allders (as was, BHS now) on Bridge Road Kirkstall.I always thought that the police station at Horsforth near the roundabout was the setting of the nick in "Frost", but somebody earlier in the thread has already put me right. It makes sense really, a '60s public service building with rubbish architecture is easy enough to replicate, and you can't clutter up a working nick with lighting vehicles, make up caravans etc etc, and keep on coming back to do it as the series progresses. What if they had an emergency ?Morley Town Hall has stood in for Leeds Town Hall in at least one episode of Emmerdale.A glass fronted coffee bar in the modern shop units opposite Bretts fish and chip restaurant in Headingley has been used in EmmerdaleThe houses on Beckett's Park Drive in the estate behind Salvo's restaurant on Otley Road, (mostly large imposing semis) are frequently used for filming.Errm, that's it.It's a pity that the city's industrial architecture hasn't figured more significantly on TV.
We wanted to make Leeds a better place for the future - but we're losing it. The tide is going out beneath our feet.

Circles of Decete (1993) - with Dennis Waterman, locations include The Cardigan Arms, Kirkstall Road and Leeds University, EC Stoner Building (shame they didn't warn people who had keys, else I might not have walked in to the words of "CUT!")Filming was taking place in the Cardigan Arms last week, I believe forHeartbeat.

They also filmed at the old school, now social service building,on the corner of Hunslet Hall Road and Disraeli terrace in Beeston. They blacked out all the windows of the corner building, closest to the Junction Pub,and i believe filmed all the dark briefing room scenes.Have you noticed that apart from Queenies Castle that just about any tv series or movie filmed in Leeds (with the exception of a few small one off programs)does not have the plot of the program based in Leeds or mentions the fact that the charcaters are in Leeds, unlike the many programs in Manchester-Cracker,Cold Feet,Life on Mars,Apocalypse Now (Hee Hee)Liverpool-Bread, Boys from the Blackstuff,Liverpool one,Letter to Breznev,Chinese Detective,51st stateNewcastle- Spender,Crocodile (F***ing)shoes, our friends in the north,Get Carter.Leeds only seems to get a mention, and thats on Emmerdale, usually when Marlon was going to take Trisha out to a club or something. Can anyone thinkof owt based in Leeds apart from the little one of tv programs?

When anyone in Emmerdale is up in court they use the now disused magistrate's court in Morley Town Hall.I seem to remember a series about an undercover cop in Belfast called "Harry's Game" and Leeds doubled for Belfast - presumably because it looks like Belfast and at the time Belfast was too dangerous.

I think Harry's Game was mentioned earlier in the thread. While I am sure security considerations had something to do with the "location" filming I would think budgetary considerations probably swung it as unless I am very much mistaken harry's game was a YTV production
