LCC still show Pine court as a non-definitive (unmade?) footpath forming a Public Right of Way (PROW) https://leedscc.maps.arcgis.com/apps/we ... a81366d3d3 , it then becomes a definitive footpath with a right turn to Assembly Street or a slight dogleg to the kink in the Road where High Court becomes The Calls. There is also another non-definitive footpath from slightly further up Kirkgate behind the buildings to Crown Street behind the Corn Exchange

I occasionally pass the site and it seems likely that nothing will be done in at least the near-term. I have attached 2 photos I took on June 2 2025 looking across to Kirkgate from the junction with Harper Street. At least the security boardings look pretty! :)

Oops sorry for the photos large size. I thought they would be much smaller!

In a report dated today (July 9 2025) in the Yorkshire Evening Post website it states "Leeds City Council is intending to carry out a 16-week programme of stabilisation work on the buildings after their current owners – two linked companies called City Fusion and Kirkgate Land Residential – failed to take the necessary steps to make them safe. It will then seek to recover the cost of this work from the companies. The council is separately seeking to acquire the properties with a view to them being fully restored and brought back into meaningful long-term use...".

So perhaps some action will at last actually get done!

Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?
