Re: RIP BLAKEY
I'm sorry to hear that Chris Youhill has died. I first got to know him (on the Web) on a site called the 'The Yorkshire Ex-pats Forum' (now defunct) many, many years ago. Chris was brought up in Ilkley but he had lived in Headingley for decades. I saw him in Otley a couple of times when he used to attend functions organised by the Samuel Ledgard's Society when they held meetings in the Rose and Crown Pub in Otley (I wasn't involved with the Society). I checked their website but there is nothing about Chris's death (https://www.samuelledgardsociety.org.uk). He was the 'font of all knowledge' on anything to do with buses.

A very gentle and warm man, a proper bus conductor / driver and desk inspector. Goodbye old chap.

The funeral arrangements for Chris are in today's evening post.
I don't know if it is the newspaper or funeral director at fault but the entry is listed as Christopher Pemberton.
Pemberton was his middle name.
