The children's home on Street Ln/ Devonshire Ave is being demolished. McCarthy & Stone building retirement homes.
Been there a lot longer than I realised.
Had to take a slightly side view of the foundation stone, due to the security fencing.
The stone and a few other interesting artefacts are marked SAVE.

I expect there will be quite a few people glad to see the back of it. I had the "pleasure" of staying at this "hotel for children" in the early 60's. Whilst I had no real problems there I believe that there was for some.
Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?
