Hello everyone, have recently been given quite a few interesting pics that I will be putting on my flickr page, Billy Britvic that is.
Anyhow I came across the attached photo, I now know where and what but haven't a clue why or when.
You will probably guess where pretty quickly but any guesses as to what was going on and when would be appreciated?
Cheers MiggyBill, aka BillyBritvic.

Re: Where, what, why and when?
I'm struggling although it is strangely familiar. It must be the back of a station but presumably no longer mainline. The houses in the background look relatively modern particularly those to the left. It looks like a citroen poking out from behind the tram. The sign to the right says pedestrians only cycling prohibited but I can only make out the first word 'Public' on the one to the left.

The station is I think Headingley - the tram is photoshopped !

.. Ex.Headingley Station,
Looking good after an external makeover, all the missing finials replaced.
If you look on the RHS, you might catch a glimpse of "Busman Blakey"......!!
Ex. Because the building is no longer in Railway use, but still a station.

The tram is on a low loader.

Thanks for your reply, You're right about it being Headingley Train station and the suggestion that it may be an altered photo, hadn't thought of that!dogduke wrote:The station is I think Headingley - the tram is photoshopped !
I retrieved this from a box of pics that definitely had not been touched for quite a few years. If the tram has been superimposed it must have been a while ago before computers even, although could it have been done by a photographer to suggest what it would look like if trams were extended to the station?
That is what puzzled me, to my knowledge there were definitely no tracks anywhere near the location of this pic, could the tram have been taken there on a low loader? as studying the original pic it doesn't look like it has been touched up.
Ha ha, I can see Blakey on the right

I agree it probably is Headingley Station but are the houses photo shopped too. They look modern but appear to be either on the current allotments or near/on Queenswood Drive/Queenswood Road Aerial view

If you go walk along past the former station on Google street view there are some houses visible over the tracks:

It was stabled at Headingley Station for three days before setting off to Crich.
So says "Tramway Mel"
