I don't understand that Brunel. Your post on Fri Mar 04, 2016 11:36 pm "These cable markers have been mentioned previously in SL." implies you know that Secret Leeds thread, so could you please be so kind as to explain what you might be inferring by your "Needles & Haystacks comes to mind...."?Brunel wrote:Could you please supply the link to that thread as I have been unable to readily at least find the thread on a search.

@Leodian
As there does not appear to be a search facility, and I cannot remember where the previous post are located, it is like looking for...... a needle in etc.
There is always a chance that some of the previous posts have been removed by their posters... or at least the pictures associated with them.
Any other info required?

Possibly this thread that Brunel (and Liits) were referring to? What is this symbol Due to the attachements problem a couple of missing images along with, as Brunel suspected, at least one deliberately removed by the poster.

Hi Brunel
.
Those photos of yours of the old cable markers are fascinating. I wonder if you know if any of the local ones are still there and if so where. I notice that one of them is/was near the Oakwood Clock.

A useful tip to get around the lack of a useful search facility on this site ( or any other) is to use Google's site specific search facility.Brunel wrote:@Leodian

For example type "site:secretleeds.com GPO markers" in the google search box without the apostrophes.
Perhaps this tip could be added to FAQs?
It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!
